A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins
By Stephen Temperley
Directed by Angela Timberman
Featuring Cheryl Willis and Jake Endres

November 7 – 30, 2025
“A wildly funny and surprisingly touching portrait of real-life laughingstock Florence Foster Jenkins” – Time Out New York
“A beguiling comic jewel with a heart” – Variety
For more than half a century, the name Florence Foster Jenkins has produced explosions of laughter. Not unreasonably so, as this wealthy social eccentric suffered under the delusion that she was a great coloratura soprano… when in fact she was incapable of producing two consecutive notes in tune! Nevertheless, her annual recitals in the ballroom of the Ritz Carlton brought her extraordinary fame and a growing mob of fans who packed her recitals – stuffing their mouths with handkerchiefs to stifle their laughter, which Mrs. Jenkins blissfully mistook for cheers.
SOUVENIR, by turns hilarious and poignant, tells her story through the eyes of her long-time accompanist, Cosme McMoon. With each new imagined triumph, and as Florence’s confidence soars, Cosme comes to revise his attitude, not only toward her singing, but to the very meaning of music itself.
“Downright hilarious… SOUVENIR raises questions about how we see ourselves and how others see us, how we make music and how we make judgements about people making music – so go laugh to your heart’s content. There aren’t many theatrical experiences as good as SOUVENIR” – The Boston Globe
SOUVENIR opens Friday, November 7th and runs through Sunday, November 30th, 2025 at the Gremlin Theatre – 550 Vandalia Street, Suite 177, St. Paul, MN 55114.
Free parking is available in the huge lot on Wabash Avenue near the water tower or on the streets around the building. There is also a lot across the street on the north side of Wabash Avenue. Enter the Annex building via the double doors that say Gremlin Theatre next to Lake Monster brewery.
